W3C Compliance |
What’s W3C and why does it effect my search engine rankings?
The simple answer is ‘Industry Standards’ and that’s what the search engines work to. So if your web site meets the industry standards then your website will pick up less negative scoring by the search engines than a website that does not comply to the industry standards of W3C.
W3C What it is
W3C develops standards and guidelines so website developers can produce websites that work across multi platforms of browsers (Not everyone uses Microsoft internet explorer!) Search Engines also don’t like to read web pages with errors in their basic code, sites that comply with W3C are error free.
Should I make my website W3C compliant?
The simple answer is yes, it could be the difference between top results, large volumes of traffic and not being found on the search engines. The chances are that being W3C compliant won’t make a massive difference over night but if your site is struggling then we recommend it as a must, lets face it your site should have been written to be W3C compliant standards anyway! Linesave recommends W3C as part of an overall strategy including link building, search engine optimisation and on-going news page interface..
